~10 pm Thursday.
Home, finally. He was transferred to the cath unit at Glendale Adventist, 45 minutes away w/o traffic. Los Robles is eliteist; because they are out in a wealthy area and are the only cath unit in reasonable distance, they won't contract with smaller insurance companies and charge the bigger ones whatever they like. Joke's on them. Glendale's bigger, is a Center of Excellence, and their statistics are better, so nyah.
Sorry, four hours sleep in the last 36 makes me punchy. Anyway.
The echocardiogram showed no damage to the structure of the heart, and no malfunction. Cat scan and most blood panels are normal. The one that came back elevated is the one that measures the enzyme your body produces when there is tissue death in the heart. His levels were at .22 or .23; a severe coronary event puts those levels up to 100-200. So it was very minor elevation, but it indicated something happened, because otherwise the levels would be 0.
Tomorrow at 11:30 is the angiogram to see if any veins/arteries are blocked. If not, it's a 15 minture proceedure and one more night in the hospital to make sure he doesn't bleed out fromthe incision in his groin. I vote for thisone. If there are minor blockages, he'll do and angioplasty or insert a stent, and it will take about an hour and he'll have to spend at least one more night, more depending on results. If he has severe blockages, or blockages in strange places, it'll come down to surgery.
He has had no more pain since they gave him a sub-cu blood thinner, so maybe it was just a clot that the thinner dissolved. In that case he'll get put on Plavix or something similar andall will be well.
There's a lot of not knowing, waiting to see, ifs, and depending on test results. I hate having things hanging overhead like this. I want them to tell me what was wrong, how it will be fixed, and when it will be over and Daddy can just come home already.
