Top five favorite Sorkin characters for sorkinverse.

President Josiah "Jed" Bartlet

What's not to love? If he were a real person, I would vote for him for President in a heartbeat. He's funny, very intelligent, a good father, an amazing friend, has a huge heart, and genuinely cares about is country. He's always trying to make sure he does what is right by his country, and by the people involved in whatever issue he is dealing with. And man can he rant. Plus, he's such a nerd. And that is so endearing. The man gets excited about the Butterball Hotline. How awesome is that?

Butterball has a hotline? God, I'm sorry, I love my country."

"They say a good man can't be elected President. I don't believe that, do you?" Definitely not in this case.

Leo McGarry

This guy's walkin' down a street when he falls in a hole.

The President's Chief of Staff, and best friend, Leo is involved in virtually every decision made in the West Wing. He's the person the President turns to for advice and guidance, but also for friendship. He has a great relationship with the senior staff, and is like a father to a lot of them, especially Josh. He's fiercely protective of his friends and family. He's a Vietnam veteran, with a strong love for his country. He's a great person and a wonderful friend. His death is arguably the saddest moment in the series.

Sam Seaborn

Sam is one of the most lovable characters in the series, in my opinion. He's a dork, but in an incredibly lovable way: Well over three and half centuries ago, strengthened by faith and bound by a common desire for liberty, a small band of pilgrims sought out a place in the New World where they could worship according to their own beliefs - and solve crimes. :) He's determined in everything he does, and never gives up on something until he is absolutely satisfied with the result (a birthday card comes to mind). He stands by his beliefs 110%. He cares about doing what's right, regardless of whether or not it is easy. He's funny and lovable, and the kind of guy you just want hang out with.

Toby Ziegler

Toby is a hardass, but the kind of guy you just have to love. He has strong morals, and fights for what he believes in until the bitter end. He has a very rough exterior, and comes across pretty harsh at times, but he has a good heart and is a fierce friend. He's extremely intelligent. He's witty, sarcastic, and hilarious. Plus, he loves pie. If that's not reason enough to love him, I don't know what is.

I didn't realize babies come with hats. You guys crack me up. You don't have jobs. You can't walk or speak the language. You don't have a dollar in your pockets but you got yourselves a hat so everything's fine. I don't want to alarm you or anything, but I'm Dad.

Claudia Jean "CJ" Cregg

It's hard not to love CJ. She is such a strong woman, and continually takes the bullet for the administration. She has arguably the hardest job in the West Wing- the press secretary. She deals with the press day in and day out, and is grilled by them constantly. One slip of the tongue, and she can dig a hole that will take forever to dig out of. But, in spite of all that, she stands strong. Even as Chief of Staff, she holds her own. But, despite how strong she is in her professional life, she never really quite knows how to navigate her personal life. Yet another reason to love her. Really, CJ is just awesome.

No, I didn't mean that you have no social skills, Toby... I'm sorry if you think I was being insensitive to your... I think you're very... you're a very pretty girl, Toby.
