Hello my long lost friends! How are you all?
New in my life:
Making pre-production plans for shooting "Jean Paul Sartre's Anne Rice's Salon"...after, of course, changing the title to something that ANYONE else finds amusing other than Marc Cram and I. It was hysterically funny when we wrote it, though. Even though he was drunk and I was delirious.
Also, I must adapt it from a stage play to a film screenplay, but that should be accomplished fairly easily. (Says the woman who's been working on her feature sceenplay for 18 months :)
It's amazing how effortlessly things have been falling into place these past 2 weeks. Without actually lifting a finger, I have somehow recently acquired a producer, an editor with AVID access, a sound editor, a composer (yeah, my own composer!), my cinematographer, more DV cameras than I know what to do with,
a kick-ass shooting location, and auction/raffle items to be used towards fundraising.
And a laptop.Plus there's a great chance that The Goodies will be able to do a live performance within the film.Oh how I've wanted to incorporate The Goodies into one of my projects! This one is promising, and actually makes sense thematically. Vampires....it's all about de vampires.
However, if I can't get Bryan Davis to play Nosferatu, the whole project may very well have to be shelved. Does anyone know if Bryan is still in town?
On a more negative note, this week marks the debut of the American version of "The Office", which will surely prove as entertaining as the American versions of Coupling or Absolutely Fabulous. Mark my words, this will not be American Queer as Folk - it looks absolutely wretched. Without British Tim, what's the point?
On a more positive note, "Finding Neverland" comes out on DVD today (I believe). So....yay!
