Can This Day Get Any Better?
I knew this morning there was a reason I woke up...even though I hit the snooze once.
The reason was this...The Olympics.
Last night was probably the first night it hit me that I was watching Olympic competition. The night it hit me that I was actually at the Olympics was the night of opening ceremonies when I was surrounded by over 200 people waiting and then watching the torch being lit. Last night's Men's Free Skate program was my awaking that I was sitting and watching OLYMPIC competition. When the final group stepped on the ice, the crowd just went crazy. Johnny Weir, Yvegeny Plushenko, Stephane Lambiel, Jeff Buttle, Matt Savioe (Cornell Law School next year..woo hoo!) stepped on the ice...the crowd went wild...flags and signs from every country...and just a whole bunch of yelling and cheering. So much fun...probably an experience I won't forget.
Today...I promise I won't ever forget. On my normal trip up to IBC, I'm leaving Palavela and who's walking in? Apolo Anton Ohno! Yes..I had to wait until he got a bit closer just to confirm it for myself. I said hello to him and he said hi back...yes APOLO OHNO said hello to me. And yes ladies..he's as cute in person as he is on TV. Then Evan Lysacek (my current Olympic crush) appeared on Olympic Ice (my show) and I was able to get a picture with him...so its been an amazing day.
Holland and Canada House tonight....who knows who else I'll run into?!
