Seeking to understand...

I was reading a blog today and there was a post about what to teach kids about religion. There were many comments about not wanting to "force" religion on kids and letting them wait till they are older to pick a religion. I don't get it either. I want my boys to grow up knowing what Todd and I believe and knowing about God. If they choose to not stay active in our church when they are adults, well, they are adults. That will be their time to choose. But, for now, I get to teach them the things that are important to us!

That's why "the light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness has not understood it." People of faith will never be considered normal , especially in regards to how they raise their children. Really, I'm okay with that. The culture says one thing, but scripture is God breathed and "profitable", so I'll stick with that, thank you. Good post though, it is frustrating when you hear so many different messages.

I'm with you on this one. especially when you bring up the fact that you already pick all sorts of things for asher... and frankly, I can't help but believe that people who think religion is irrational and logically unsound also pass down irrational and logically unsound things to their kids... we've all read Thoreau, we know we do things that don't make sense because of the society we live in. you know?
