I'm completely in favor of increased counseling for birth mothers and agree that it needs to be a pressure-free experience, but the idea of increasing the time periods where they can change their minds seems like a bad choice for the child. These infants need to get into their permanent homes ASAP and be bonding and becoming secure with that family. If adoptive parents have to be worried about disruption they will bond less strongly intitally and if children are removed from homes after 2-3 weeks we'll disrupt their initially bond formation and stability. Who wins in that mess? Am I missing something here?
