I'm not sure i can ever really stan a billionaire for being a nice boss, since really that should be the baseline for everyone, or really get excited about her activism, which seems like an afterthought compared to her business success... But having a friend explain it, i do now better understand why it is that a lot of women like to listen to her music. I think it's mostly about how her lyrics resonate with women who have dealt with shitty men in their lives, judgemental friends and family, coworkers who don't respect them etc. Perhaps the fact that she also isn't the most talented singer or dancer adds to the appeal in that fans can better identify with someone who isn't a virtuoso? In any case, there is this sense that she writes songs about stuff that the average woman can connect to, and does it unapologetically, which feels empowering. I am looking forward to this little break!
