Taipei did alright, although probably more because the epicenter was on the east coast. My house still shook and rattled something wicked, and the wall behind my desk at work was cracked when i got in. But life goes on. I do think the building codes are very good here, though. Although there are a few toppled buildings and blocked roads, it's not all that much if you think about how strong it was. I guess living here the engineers need to do solid work because earthquakes and typhoons both arrive at regular intervals.

I was originally leaning toward looking for a tailor here, but then i found a few and looked at the reviews and all the pictures are of smart gentleman in suits and smart women in dresses and it scared me off because who goes to a tailor for a tank top? Bad enough i'm a foreigner, and trans, surely they'll laugh me out of the room. That's when i went down the spiral of looking for tank tops online and finding none in my size, or some in my size who will ship from the US but only in fabric i don't want to wear or the most horrific colors because apparently abnormal-sized people don't get the privilege of wearing normal colors, and on and on. It's so depressing.
