I don't remember the last time i watched TV news! I don't much listen to radio either. A couple years ago i went through a phase of watching/listening to podcasts, but then i realized they were taking up too much of my time compared to how little value i was getting out of them, especially the opinion style ones which tend to rehash the same opinions over and over each week.

I have to admit, one of the reasons why i "read" the news sources i do every day is because i don't need to click through to any of the articles. They all have brief, succinct headlines, sometimes with a one or two sentence summary, and that's usually enough to give me an idea of what is going on in the world. I have an aversion to clicking through to any story anywhere online because i know that companies are tracking every click and i don't want to contribute to metrics that might encourage more sensationalist reporting. On top of that, not sure if it's because i am old and seen it all before or if i just have "news fatigue" but i find most topics don't interest me enough to make it worthwhile to go beyond the headline nowadays. So my theory with flicking through The Guardian, SZ etc every day is that i trust them more than other outlets to not only have reasonably accurate headlines but also present a reasonably broad set of global topics. Then, if or when something does interest me a lot, that's usually when i will dig into more specialized outlets.
