It's another food meme, so of course i will do it! Check out thefridayfive for more.
1. What's your favorite fruit or vegetable to look at?
That's a great question. I think i like to look at fruits that have interesting surfaces. Pineapples are pretty cool. But another cool one that's even better that i see a lot here in Taiwan is sugar apples, also known as sweet-sop. They have all these neat little nodules on the outside, and when you grab one, you can just break it along the nodules, no knives needed. It's such a nifty little fruit.
2. What's your favorite juice?
The best juice i ever had was watermelon and ginger. It's so simple, but the few times i've found places that do it, i feel totally refreshed and energized in ways that plain old watermelon juice or ginger tea doesn't quite reach. If i was a professional chemist, i'd look into the mixture to see if some interaction between the ingredients created a new mind-altering drug. It's just that damn good.
As far as normal juices go, here in Taiwan guavas are ubiquitous, and they make a pretty fine juice. We get them every couple weeks at work on our fruit delivery Wednesdays.
3. What fruit tree would you like to have in your yard?
LOL. Yard. Who has a yard? Not me, not since forever. Fruit should be grown in farms close to the city and delivered to the people.
4. What vegetable name do you think makes the best nickname?
This is a stupid question and nobody should be named after a vegetable.
5. What fruits and vegetables would your personal "fruit hat" contain?
Fruit hats are a waste of fruit that could otherwise feed people. However, i do think bananas are one of the objectively funniest fruits and therefore people wearing them on their heads as fashion would make me laugh. Also that poor cat who somebody put a watermelon rind on their head, that was amusing for everybody except the cat.
