I am going to group the Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama food pictures together. I've only been in Florida for about 12 hours, but i already feel like i am back in the Taco Belt. I have never had horchata of chilaquiles(sp?), which seems crazy considering where I live. I really want to try the latter because this picture looks great. The horchata....I'm not sure what the idea of it just sounds so unappealing to me. I should at least try it once. You've inspired me.

American food looks so... brown. I mean, I love fries, I could eat them every day. But I would miss vegetables and a good salad here and there.
I would love to try proper Mexican food. It's so hard to find in Germany :(

And, yes, American food is very much lacking fresh fruit and vegetables. I don't know why because people do eat those things at home, but they are much more rare to get at restaurants than in Europe or Asia or even Australia. You can visit "health food" type restaurants in the big cities that serve it, but i would hope to be able to get it at normal restaurants in smaller towns too. Unfortunately not.
