Who: Superman, Kara Zor-El
What: Kara crashes to Earth
Where: Antarctica

The steady, mechanical beep of the tracking device was the only sound for miles, besides the wind. Far away on the coast, a host of sea birds and penguins squawked and ruffled their feathers against the cold, but this deep into the interior, there wasn't much life. The signal that the Fortress had received led to a cold, empty plain in the Antarctic, and Clark scanned it for signs of movement. He saw what he was looking for a few miles up ahead: a glint of metal from something buried in the snow and permafrost. Clark sped up and ended up hovering above what was pretty clearly a spaceship.

It was half buried in the ground, and the heat from its impact had melted the snow around it. The metal was gleaming and looked...otherworldly, for lack of a better term. It looked nearly identical to the ship his parents had stored in their storm cellar back in Smallville, the ship that he'd crash landed in. A wild, terrible hope flared up in him, and he tried to control it. This could very easily be a trap. He landed on the ground near the ship, circling it.

Nothing unusual happened. The ship was quiet, aside from a gentle humming noise that seemed to come from the metal itself. The message had said "a touch and your true name will unlock all things." Clark wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but he was willing to give it a try and hope it wasn't a riddle. He laid a hand on the cold hull of the ship, half-expecting a sudden attack.

< It's me, > he said in Kryptonian, the syllables feeling rusty and strange. It had been a long time since he'd had a reason to speak it. < Kal-el. >
