Quebec

Yay, I'm in Quebec, *woot* !! We checked into our hotel at about 3:30pm this afternoon, after a long, nearly 6-hour (including stops, like for lunch) drive from VT. Then we checked out our hotel [Hotel Clarendon, the oldest hotel here in the city] a bit--there's a spa!--and walked around some. It's fun to shmy (sp?) and just look at things, even if you don't end up buying anything. There are SO many people, it's crazy: even though it's a city, it's still surprising how crowded it is. French is really the only language spoken here, though occasionally you'll hear some English (tourists like ourselves), and, what's even better is that all the French people we've spoken to [so far] have spoken English fairly well. Although we've been speaking mainly French so far, I'm hoping to practice my French some more this week--I'm hoping those 7 years of studying the language will pay off! ;)
