National Spelling Bee

Last night, my dad and I watched the Scripps National Spelling Bee on ABC. This is actually the first year they've done this: you know, broadcasting the national spelling bee on primetime TV. Pretty cool, huh? Well, maybe not to everyone else, but for a person who loves the English language and loves to spell (i.e., me), it's really fun to watch it. Of course, all of the contestants were fairly young, the oldest being 14, and the youngest all the way down to elementary school (but the youngest in the final 13 contestants was 10). And most of these words are really difficult; I mean, there were maybe only a couple words of which I knew the definitions (and they were French words) -- these kids are just incredibly smart and complete brainiacs, but what's wrong with that? I bet I would've really liked to do something like this, but we never even had school-wide spelling bees in elementary & middle school anyways; however, I'm sure I wouldn't have made it very far, and the competition's very tough. Oh, the final 3 kids left were girls (yay!), all like 13 & 14 (I believe); then it came down to these really awesome spellers, and they went back and forth for awhile, until the girl from Canada messed up on "weltschmerz". Then the other girl (I can't remember which state she's from) correctly spelled 2 words, the 2nd one being "ursbrache" (I don't know if I spelled that right lol). Woot!!

Your Ideal Pet is a Little Dog

You're both high strung, hyper, and cute.
You're one of the few people who can get away with carrying your little dog in a little bag.
What's Your Ideal Pet?
^I'm not really hyper, but I do want a little dog! :)
