Poetry

So far, in my Creative Writing class, we've been writing poems -- which isn't really my strong point, but we'll get to fiction in a couple weeks (which is really why I'm taking the class lol). I mean, I'm not a horrible poet, but I'm not best either. The other poems of students in my class--the ones I've read--seem a lot better than me, but then again, I'm being really critical of my own poems. Anyway, for the assignment that's due on Monday, we have to write 3 poems: one short poem, and 2 others that are 2 of the following forms--villanelle, sonnet, sestina, pantoum, ghazal. (I chose sestina and pantoum). You probably only know what a sonnet is, and I was the same way until just a couple days ago.

You Are Champagne

A true mystery, no one can quite figure you out...
That is, until you start drinking. Then you tend to let loose.
You're fun to drink with, but it definitely takes you a few drinks to loosen up.
You prefer to date a man who likes the finer things in life... like a five star dinner with that champagne.
What Alcoholic Drink Are You?
