My Rare Women Letter
Dear writer,
I never know what to put in one of these things, so bear with me. For the most part, I'm an easy going reader and, as long as your grammar and sentence structure are okay and your story features someone I like, then I'm usually happy.
Some things I'm not really a fan of: I don't usually read slash. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part I'm really into het. That being said, I do love het, so if you want to inject some of it into my story, that's great! I love gen stories, too, though, so if you're not feeling the love, I won't be disappointed. Oh, yes, what I don't like....Um...Well, I'm not a fan of all the sexual stuff you have to warn for. You know, rape, incest, fetishes, torture. I'm about as vanilla as they come in my tastes.
Stuff I like: Good characterization. Respect for the characters you are writing. Interaction that feels real. Strong women. The idea that being strong doesn't mean that you're a cold bitch that never opens up and who has to kill everything in sight. Being strong can be subtle, and you don't have to be cruel to be strong.
Specific requests (which may not be that much more detailed than on the sign up form. :) ):
Devon Adair: Devon Adair is awesome. She's strong, cool, compassionate, caring, and a great leader. I'd love to see a story that showcases her efficiently overcoming a challenge of some sort. I love her and Danziger as a couple, so you can use this if you like, but you don't have to.
Joan Watson: Joan is a fairly new character. We've seen bits of her personal life here and there, but not much. I'd like to have a personal story about Joan. It can involve Sherlock or not. It can be from the present, past, or future. It can be an incident that has changed her or a the way a case has affected her or something that made her stronger or weaker. I'd just like to see inside of Joan into something that makes her who she is.
Audrey Parker: I'd really, really love an Audrey/Nathan fic. I love them as a couple, and I love stories that deal with this. (Though, if you decided to go the friendship route, I would love it too. I just love their relationship in general.) I'd like something warm and not too angsty (but if your muse points to angsty, I'll take that too. I just want some Nathan and Audrey interaction.
Nova/Astrid: We don't get a lot of her on the show, so I'd like a story about her in Storybrooke. It can be during the curse or after it's broken. Just basically a moment in her life. It can be any moment that you choose.
