O.K. I went to the party for Chris and Jessica on Ft. Campbell last night...here is the breakdown:
I went to the visitor's center to get a pass. I did not understand the deal with the registration. I thought maybe it was my title......WRONG! ! ! ! They actually wanted registration that the vehicle was registered in my name. So I had to go back to the van and get the registration and go back in line. About this time...Chris and Jessica walks in line. Fist of all, the map I got at the visitors center had no definite location as to where the street where the party was at was on it. The map just had the major locations like the local schools, Campbell Airfield, etc. Sooo...I followed the T and the wifey to the house.
We get to the party, I finally met Jamie (the hostess of the party) and saw The Rene for the first time in forever. I got some time to talk to the T about the bathroom renovation (which is still not done and I am EXTREMELY PISSED OFF ABOUT THIS ! ! ! ! ! ! ). I met some of the other peeps that were at the party (sorry Chris, I could not remember them all, I am getting old) and we had a great time. The food was totally awesome. The lasgana, I think Allen made, kicked some major butt. The lasanga was soooo good that I would like to get the recipe (somewhere down the road). I had the little piggy-in-a-blanket (they were sooo good). Although, I did not get any desert (which is ok, trying to watch the weight anyways). Then we saw the DVD commentary that Chris, Josh and Irene did of the earlier videos (dang, Chris, I did not know you were that skinny).
Then we get to the games. The first game was a scavenger hunt. I am really big on scavenger hunts, but keep in mind we were on a military base. Let me set the scene for ya: two teams, Chris and Jessica were the team captains. On Jessica's team: Me, Jessica, Jamie, Wren, Allen, Melissa, and Monica. On Chris' team: oh crap....the only people I could think of were Irene, Chris, and Josh. The object: complete as many of the clues in your stack before time was up. Two catches: 1.) you could not go off base except for one clue 2.) you had to get pictures of everything that you did. To me, the funniest things that I had to do was go up to one of the security camera at an ATM and pick my nose while someone took the picture, running through Blanchfield Hospital and to get a picture of Melissa in a wheel chair while an orderly pushed it, and do the truffle-shuffle at gate 1-A (WTH is the truffle-shuffle from the Goonies) while the guard was laughing her butt off and the supervisor standing there with his thumb up his butt. Back at the house, one game that I totally laughed my butt off at was the drawing game, "The House that Jack Built". I knew where this game was going when it got past the part where it was the wet, moist leprechaun.
Sadly, I had to leave at 11:30 p.m. because I had to be at church at 7 a.m. to run cameras (I will share that update tomorrow). I would like to thank Chris for inviting me and Jamie for hosting the party.
Later!
