[It's the middle of the night and Angel is waiting outside of Princess Buffy's chamber door. o_o So they can go on a midnight stroll and revel in their forbidden love. They can't have sex because Angel is an eunuch. So that kind of sucks.]
[ She rests a hand against his chest and leans up to press a hurried kiss to his mouth, then draws back slightly, opening her eyes and fixing her gaze on him, thoughtful for a moment. ]
Take me away from here. Even if it's just for a little while. I want to be in your world, not mine.
[He has to pull away from her so he can properly lead her through the ... idek secret slave passageway.] There's nothing special to my world. It's not worth living without you in it.
[William is patrolling a cemetery because he's a hero guy who fights demons. He tenses, sensing a vampire nearby, turns, stake clutched in his hand, and relaxes.]
[ Buffy was trying to look menacing but she falters in her mean evil look when he dismisses her. She's pretty much immediately reduced to indignant pouting. ]
And just what's that supposed to mean? Hello? Evil? Big and generally bad? Right here. [ She throws her arms up with a groan. ] How am I supposed to intimidate my way to respect from the neighbors when you keep dismissing me like this?
[Sorry, Buffy, he's just... not intimidated. Though he can't help but think that pout is sort of adorable. In an evil, soulless way, of course.] Funny how helping you scare people's not at the top of my agenda. Sorry, pet. Go bother someone else, would you?
You know, there was a time not too long ago that you though I was scary, Slayer. [ She advances on him in a kind of predatory way, circling around at a safe distance because hurr stake. ] And if it weren't all chips ahoy upstairs these days, it wouldn't take half a heartbeat for me to suck you dry. [ She pauses, an amused smile flickering over her lips. One that gives a secondary meaning to sucking him dry in such a way that she doesn't even need to voice it. ]
[...yeah, don't worry, Spike's brain definitely filled it in. He swallows, his pulse speeding up. He raises his stake, holding on to it tightly, but he's holding it more like a cross than a weapon, intended to keep the evil vampire at bay, not kill her.]
There won't be any sucking, vampire. And I wasn't particularly scared of you before you got the chip either. Bugger off before I decide to stake you for good.
[ There's a swagger in her step as she approaches, arms raising out to the sides. ]
Let's see it then. Come on, William. I'm shaking in my stylish yet affordable boots over here. [ A beat. She drops her hands to her sides. ] If you were gonna kill me, you would have done it years ago. The fact is, you don't have it in you. So, just stop playing games and admit that a part of you? Kinda likes having me around.
[He crosses his arms and turns to face her.] There's just this thing I have where I don't hurt defenseless girls. You wouldn't understand. [He stalks towards her, though, holding up the stake.]
But don't push me. I'm more than willing to change my mind about that.
Oh, no, I understand. [ There's a wicked gleam in her eyes. ] It's better when they put up a fight. [ She steps closer as he stalks nearer and meets him, reaching up to grab the stake and hold it there, to keep him from staking her while she invades his bubble. ] You know, both of our lives would be a whole lot easier if you'd just admit that you don't really want to kill me.
