[Lois has this thing about doing really ridiculously dumb things because she has no common sense re: shit she should be afraid of. Chalk it up to that whole General's daughter thing or whatever, but she tends to think of herself as an unstoppable tank of investigative reporting. Plus, she's carrying mace, so what could go wrong prowling the backstreets of LA late at night?
She's here in town looking for leads on a businessman who's been running some kind of drug trade out of Metropolis, and the trail's taking her all the way out here to California, where he'd just relocated from. Most reporters would let the trail run cold there, but that was way too sensible for Lois Lane.
Plus, she was kind of irked at Clark right now and there might have been some avoidance issues going on.
Either way, her reaction to getting grabbed from behind by a mugger is to roll her eyes and grab his forearm, elbowing him with surprising skillz.]
You picked the wrong girl to tango with tonight, pal. [She turns around, ready to kick him in the face or something badass, but his bumpy horrific vampire face... takes her totally off guard, and what comes out instead is a horrified shout as he charges her again, slamming her against the brick wall of the alleyway and baring those fangs at her, as he tries to twist her head to the side to get a nice big bite. She struggles, but is nowhere near badass enough to just.. hurl a vampire off her, ok. She's not a freaking Slayer :( Instead, she just shouts out some strained protests.] Get... off of me!
