Oz never expected things to turn out this way. When he set out to control the werewolf inside him, he'd only been thinking of protecting Willow. Sure, he knew she'd be upset, but it had to be done, and when it was, he'd go back to Sunnydale and beg her to take him back. That was the plan, at least. What actually happened was a different story altogether--when he smelled Willow on that other girl, he couldn't believe it, but it was true. Willow had moved on. Not only that, but he'd apparently hurt her so much that she'd moved on to girlsHe was too late. He was just... too late ( ... )

Cordelia was shocked to hear anyone's voice (it was too soon for Angel to be back, and they didn't get a lot of customers this late), let alone a familiar one. A blast from Sunnydale past. Though she had pretended to be excited to see Oz when he had shown up here a few months ago, it wasn't like they had been friends. It wasn't like she had really been friends with any of them. They had just tolerated her because she was bait girl, and later because she was dating Xander. And once that little relationship blew up? Well it just became even more obvious what an outsider she had been in that little group to begin with ( ... )

At first Oz was grateful that Cordy didn't attempt the fake enthusiasm that she did the first time he'd shown up--that had been really awkward and painful. It wasn't that he didn't like Cordelia--he just didn't ever get to know her. They did share the common trait of being a significant-other-addition, but that wasn't exactly something that you could base a friendship around. He was focused on Willow, and she was focused on Xander. The closest they'd ever come to connecting was when they'd found Xander and Willow in the old warehouse, and that was probably something neither of them wanted to think about, let alone form a special group about it.

It turned out though that they had yet another thing in common--their expendability in the eyes of the Sunnydale crew. He thought he'd become pretty good friends with Buffy, Giles, and even Xander, (though he really couldn't stand the guy if Willow wasn't around) but as soon as Willow moved on from him, they weren't really his friends anymore. He was just the Ex-Boyfriend, and there was no ( ... )

"I can't believe he did this to me, after everything we went through, this is what he left me with?" She seemed to be in full rant mode now, despite the fact that Oz was standing there and looking at her like she was crazy. "This is his gift? I can't even pawn it on anyone else. Sure, it worked all well and good when he kissed me but when I try kissing anyone else to pawn them off? No. I'm stuck with them. But I never signed up to be vision girl. He could have at least asked me first, or-or something ( ... )
