[Spike's playing video games to work out his new hands when the door goes flying open. He drops the controller and stands up quickly, tensed for a fight, then he sees who it is. He drops his fists, getting a bit of a deer-in-headlights look, mouth dropping a little.]

Buffy...

[Oops. Buffy lowers the stake, looking a little confused. She could have sworn she left Spike playing checkers with Dawn. But maybe she's been exploring for longer than she thought.]

Oh. Hi. [A little sheepishly.] Sorry for the... [Yeah, she'll just... slide that behind her back now.]

... You found an X-Box?

[Spike's still just kind of... bwuh, Buffy, so he hasn't really registered the lack of surprise. He sort of just... stands there staring.]

I knew Andrew wouldn't keep his mouth shut... Look, you probably are looking for some sort of explanation.

[She shrugs, sliding on into the room. The Hunt is over, for the moment. :| ]

None necessary. As long as you didn't leave Dawn completely alone. [Have a warning look, Spike. If you left her sister alone or with those idiot Winchesters and/or that homicidal pair of superfreaks... she will kick your butt.]

[Now that makes absolutely no sense. He just stares and blinks. Leave Dawn alone? He hasn't seen Dawn since he died.]

You heard me. [Yeah, she just plops down next to you and picks up a controller.] You know, for someone with Slayer reflexes, I'm not actually very good at these.

[He reaches over and pushes her hands down, looking at her seriously.]

You know, it's not like I was expecting a party, but this isn't really how I expected our grand reunion to go. Didn't you at least miss me? I mean, I thought--

well, it doesn't really matter, I guess. Not like my heroic sacrifice ended up sticking.

... I didn't expect it to take place in a house with potential serial killers, and silent movie monsters, and who knows what else, either. I'm just not sure...

[Wait a minute. The Spike she met here wasn't even ensouled yet. She stops abruptly, staring at him.]

[He'll stare back, hurt and confused. Buffy is acting crazy.]

...really didn't think it was the kind of thing you'd forget. If you're not here to yell at me for not telling you I'm back or tell me you're glad to see me, why did you come?

[She slows it way down now.]

You're not... the Spike... I know. [Yeah, that sentence probably won't make sense to you either. But she has to work this out in her brain.]

Of course I am. Who else would I be? Been palling around with other souled vampires who look good in leather? [Wait, he knows one of those.] And bleach their hair?
