Though he had been working in the back, piecing together another broken watch, he could still hear the chimes in the front of the store and perked up at the sound of them. A customer. That was a rarity. Better yet, maybe it was Chandra with more tests to run. They hadn't made any breakthroughs yet, but that didn't mean Gabriel had lost hope. He had to keep hoping. If he kept stumbling through his words like this, she really was going to kill him. But, that would mean apologizing to Noah, so she tried to keep from letting it bother her too thoroughly. She even managed to keep the smile on her face -- lying was getting easier. Then again, it was hard wired into her, given what kind of family she came from, so that wasn't surprising.
