CFD Weekend

I took off to my lions place after leaving work on Friday. It's always a bit of work taking a fursuit and all the stuff you need for a 3 days weekend and a party along on a train, but it worked out nicely, and I was even only a bit over 15 minutes late! We had our usual but very good asian dinner, a peaceful evening and a short, but relaxing night. We left for cologne rather late on saturday, with the good feeling of not having planned much. Not making detailed plans, like when to be at certain places, whom to meet and what to have for dinner is new to me. My attempts on being a bit more spontaneous and just letting things happen have been - in my eyes - a success. We had some fast food after checking in to our "suite" at the hotel - Aku: You know the room well, no. 5, the big one you always had, the one we always drooled over when we only had those miniature rooms. Well, it didn't have heating and warm water, but - hey - what the heck, right? We know the hotel is crap. It's close and cheap. It's great! Unfortunately I hadn't realized that Lupo had been expecting a call back. I'm sorry about that, it was kind of a misunderstanding. Our tummys filled with one greasy Burger each and some fries, we arrived at the party just as it started. And what a party it was!

The DJs were awesome, even though not all of what they played was really out taste. Still was fun anyway. Light was good too, it wasn't as hot as it had been on other occasions, the team seemed motivated... It felt so good seeing friends again. So many of them too! Actually, that fact that it was almost a bit too crowded was maybe the only thing not so cool. But hey, I said almost! I spent a lot of time on the dance floor in suit, part suit and even without suit. I still can't dance - But I guess no one really cares. We were there from start 'till the end this time! And it was over WAY too fast! We had a final beer in the hotel, and fell asleep at 5:30.

Sunday was OK for me, but I think my lion had a far worse time than he wanted to admit. 5 hours of sleep didn't bother me, and I felt alive and good all day. I think we should have a party like that every weekend! When we got back after a breakfast at McCafe (yep, Mc again...), we relaxed a bit and topped the weekend off with the Lion King 3D.

What an awesome weekend, all in all! It feels so terrible that that was probably out last meeting with our friends for ... 6, maybe even 7 months! It feels almost unbearable! I'm looking forward to many small unscheduled events... Please, let there be some!!!

Got my 2nd in a series of dentist appointments coming up in an hour. I'm NOT happy about that.

In addition to the rant yesterday: I nearly got run over today by a lady who decided to drive backwards out of a one way street, not wanting to stop her car on the intersection where I was just crossing. Not wanting to stop. I'm surprised she didn't honk the horn, but she eventually DID stop because so did I, wanting to know if she would actually go through with running me over. She didn't, she chickened. Don't get me wrong, I didn't run in front of her car or took her right of way or anything. She just didn't want to let me pass. She DID have enough time to shout something at me afterwords, but I wasn't really listening. I just don't get people.
