Yes, it's an annual convention. There are a variety of conventions like this slowly budding across the country.

Fetish clubs and fetish clubs and conventions are conventions. The nature of the beast is different - a fetish club is a darky smoky venue normally meant for music which is opening for 4-8 hours, during which everyone who shows up will try to get their rocks off. A convention is a three-day weekend in a hotel, with a variety of seminars, entertainment programs, and round table discussions. You've got 3 days to find someone(s) to your taste and negotiate something mutually beneficial -- FCG was initially uninterested in playing with LDB, until they spent some time talking (more time, in fact, than she ever spent talking to me).

It's not as rushed, there are a variety of options to get to know each other. It's nice. Frolicon, unlike most of the other conventions I know about, tries to provide seminar tracks for the whole range of sexual expression, not just BDSM.

While I enjoyed Frolicon this year and last, last year's ShibariCon was far more enjoyable for me. On the other hand, it was three days dedicated specifically to rope play, and could therefore cater very precisely to that style.
