Fic Title: The Parallel Worlds Proof (1/11?)
Characters: The entire Big Bang Theory gang, Tenth Doctor, Donna
Rating: Um...Same as the shows :P
Summary: A familiar blue box lands in the guys' living room. How did it get there? Are the Doctor and Donna now trapped forever in the wrong universe?
Genre: Crossover, AU, Crack (Humor), Other ridiculousness
Spoilers: BBT: Probably through The Gorilla Experiment, specifically. Mostly it's just vague season 3 spoilers.
Doctor Who: None (Setting is mid-series 4. If you've seen Turn Left, you're fine.)
Author's Note: This idea has been festering since Summer 2008, but I just worked out how to write it last month. I have the first 8 installments posted on FanFiction.net already (under amtrak12). I think there's only going to be another chapter or two before the epilogue (yes a crack-y crossover fic is going to have an epilogue. Like this wasn't ridiculous enough). Honestly I just wanted the Tardis to land in the world of Big Bang Theory and have Sheldon and the gang fanboy out a bit. I don't think my brain got the message, because my simple crack idea turned into multi-chapter plot. :| Ah, well. Hope it's at least entertaining! This is just the short prelude. Follow the link at the bottom for Chapter One!
Prelude:
January 12, 2009
Click, click, tik, tik, click.Howard's head jerked up. He looked around confused. 'What the hell was that?' He heard the odd clicking noise again, this time farther to his left. He stood up and began to look around and under the tables. It sounded like an insect. An incredibly big insect. Howard crept forward to check the other side of the bookcase. Something black skittered across his peripheral vision, and he spun around. Nothing. He couldn't see anything out of place.
"Howard!!" called Leonard from down the hall. A few seconds later, he and Raj poked their heads through the doorway.
"Dude, what's taking you so long? We've got a killer robot to build!" Raj demanded.
"Right," Howard shook his head to clear it. "Right, just let me grab the servos." He grabbed a bag from his work bench and turned to go. He flipped out the lights as he followed Leonard and Raj out.
Tucked away, deep within the shadows, sat a rather large beetle-like creature. It made no movement. Simply stood and watched and waited. A second bag sat on top of the work bench, forgotten. No one ever returned for it. Finally, the beetle turned and slipped away amongst a flurry of clicks. It's job was done.
