To the dumb fucks that run this damn school:
After the Virginia Tech shootings last year, you implemented a new safety system. After the Northern Illinois shootings last month, you stepped up testing of said safety system. Text messages went out, and all but Sprint customers received their messages (and since then, that problem has been solved.) The system of 11 sirens placed all around campus can be heard from Meredith College five blocks down the road. Said system has been tested three times now, and it works perfectly well.
After the App. State hoax last week, you sent out emails promising our safety. After the SBP of our rival school 30 minutes down the road was gunned down last week, you mourned with them, while promising safety of your own students.
So please explain how the fuck two men in ski masks can rob a man at gunpoint in broad daylight (5:05 PM) in the middle of one of the busiest parts of campus, and the students are not alerted until 4 hours later. You didn't tell students to stay in classrooms. You didn't use that expensive alarm system. You didn't send out text messages to the over 35,000 students that call this campus home.
Instead, you send out emails at 9:00 PM stating that there was an armed robbery. Many of us believed this was just a repeat of the one that was sent out this morning, regarding another student being robbed at knifepoint at 9:00 PM last night. I learned of this by reading a message board. And that is just fucking pathetic.
As a student of the largest campus in North Carolina, I no longer feel safe. When a guy can walk up to a major campus building, stick a gun in someone's face, and campus police don't let the campus know about it, there is a serious problem.
