Have you ever watched a movie and had it, well I don't want to say change your life...but in a sense that is what I mean. Just a movie that when you watched it, something clicked inside you and something made sense

that was a rly nice post. im gonna watch that movie now.
idk if this is like it but i really was considering giving up photography because nothing was happening and i felt not good enough and i remember tha morning so clearly i was crying and i was scared and i checked my email and got an email from the school saying i had recieved an award for one of my photos inthe art show and i felt like that was a sign to not give up
ok first of all that picture you took of mike and those pictures you took at the pier like a year ago...those pictures are amazing. like I think about those pictures and how amazing I thought they were. and that's how I know you're a good photographer. like I don't say that lightly either. I know several "trying-to-be photographers". Out of all of them, I think 3 are good enough to do something with it in life. you my friend are 1 of them.
I totally remember when you posted about getting that email! :)
no seriously...I measure a good artist like this. If I've seen a piece of art...and there will be something that reminds me of it the picture or whatever and I can vividly picture that image in my head; then that means that photo impacted me. And isn't that the purpose of art? to have an impression on someone's mind?
I think so. I really want a copy of the mike picture, and the photo from under the pier. I love the composition of those pictures. I think I remember kayne went with you when you took those. mabes?
summer before 8th grade. went to mexico/belize with my family. it was my first time leaving the country and seeing a different culture. since the day i arrived in mexico i've known what i wanted to do with my life. its like something just struck me when i was in a place all new, and doing things completely unlike anything i had done at home. everytime i travel, whether its to some random east coast town with you, or to italy with family, or to nepal, it just deepens my desire to travel, meet new people and experience new things for the rest of my life. the politics thing is just a sidebar. honestly, if i could make a living somehow traveling to the far corners of the world (and everywhere in between) and meeting new people, i'd leave to do it in a heartbeat. its not that i dont love you and everyone here, its just theres this crazy part of me thats just not satisfied unless its somewhere new, doing somehting crazy. and its been around, buzzing in my ear since that trip to mexico 7 years ago
I totally have that traveling bug too...but on a much smaller scale. and I do not take that desire to see new places personally at all.
this might be my favorite discussion entry I've written. btdubs...you know how I randomly decide to do things that most people think on for a while before doing? yeah starting a new one like asap. call me tomorrow and I'll give you the jist/gist (I have yet to figure out which one is correct.) of it. :-D
There are a few areas of my life that I'm passionate about, and each came about for different reason:
+ Film: I saw the movie Run Lola Run in high school, and I was blown away by the camerawork, editing, and overall plotline. I wanted to make something as creative as that. I haven't done it yet, but I will.
+ Photography: I read an article about the early photographs of Jacques-Henri Lartigue and I loved the ease with which he captured life around him. Since then, a number of photographers have made me want to document the way I view the world.
+ Music: I guess it started back when my parents played the oldies station around the house. I'd want to stay up late just in case one more song I loved got played. Since then, I've lived for that moment when you hear a song that gives you goosebumps and makes you fall in love all over again.
that's incrediable. are you going to do any filming stuff? I always thought that was so interesting and really cool that you were really interested into doing films.
I'm not doing any filming right now. I took a class last semester that was actual film, not video...we had to handcrank the cameras and everything...it was intense. I have a screenplay or two that I'd like to produce someday, hopefully before I graduate.
wait like screen plays that you wrote? that's sounds so awesome. I really hope you do that soon!
you know I have a friend that's in LA right now working for Kevin Spacey! he's trying to get his film made soon. there's something happening with it. he calls me every once in awhile so I can geek out for him. haha he might be transfering to nyc!
