christmas day started with daddy waking me up to go see santa presents. i was not the least bit excited and didnt understand why it was necessary to wake me up when they would still be sitting there at noon. they still make me say "thank you santa" after each gift and if i dont then grandmother tells me that if you dont believe in santa he wont bring to anything. its wonderful, let me tell ya. so anywho, today sucked weather wise and def didnt feel like christmas. rain always makes me tired so i went back to bed for a few hours. i woke up just in enough time to get all ready and go to aunt joys. if anyone had to sit through a holiday with my family, you would most likely kill yourself. the whole clan was there today, not just the locals. aunt sally came in from cinci with her new husband which i personally find a little odd. uncle gary and aunt cindy came down from nashville and my cousins from boston university. i dont think any of the kids were very happy to be there. we are always very cynnical (sp?) on holidays or family get togethers in general but we def get it from our parents bc they dont want to be there any more than we do. so basically, its a group of ppl sitting in the same room that dont exactly like eachother but have to be nice. muzzie (dads step mom) comment of the night to me "what happened to your hair? dont worry it ll grow back." thanks muz. i got a 20 minute lecture from uncle gary about how when i get into my major that they are going to tell me all the wrong stuff and just to call him. gary is the chief council for bridgestone firestone and he was on tv for all that stuff with ford and congress and evidently it is covered in the communications text books in great detail, but according to him none of it is true. i had to sit through a disturbing amount of pictures and as usual we opened presents one by one while everyone stares at you. it took forever! grandmother (mommy's mom) quote of the night, so my dad opens up a gift from her and this one happens to be dress pants. dad says that they are great but the size is too small. in a harsh, totally not joking voice, she says "its not my fault you ve gained weight." and the crowd goes wild. we were there from 4 till 10 30. way too much family time. mommy has the bright idea to get everyone together for breakfast tomorrow at 8 am at peaches before gary, cindy, jackie, and david, head home. thanks mom for volunteering us for more family time.
dont get me wrong. christmas was great. i got everything i wanted annd then some. i am very greatful but i get a little pessimistic when i spend too much time with the fam. so anywho, i got home and ali came over. CRAZY NIGHT! i ll spare everyone the details. ODDYUDE just says it all... xOxO amy
