Sixth day

The locksmith came fairly quickly - 45 minutes. Then he spent 15 minutes getting into my car. $60 and an hour of my life for a little mistake. Oh well.

The livejournal app on my iPhone is completely wrong on location once again. I think I'm going to turn that feature off, since it doesn't seem to work. Which is weird, because all the other apps know where I am fairly accurately. (I posted the locksmith thing from Moab, Utah.)

Arches was pretty cool. I may be getting a little burnt out on the Colorado Plateau, though, since many of the sights are vaguely similar, and the geology is pretty much the same, even though they created different things. Still, I'm glad I went, and I'm going to the Colorado National Monument tomorrow.

The most interesting thing about Arches wasn't really the arches, in my opinion. It was Park Avenue. It's skyscrapers in sandstone. Unfortunately, I didn't do the hike, because it's a one way hike. I guess I could have hiked the whole thing and then hiked back to my car, but I didn't think of that at the time. Yeah, I haven't been all that bright today.

The drive from Arches back to I-70 was incredible. Called the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway, Utah State Route 128 runs along the bottom of a large canyon cut by the Colorado River. I regretted not going to the Grand Canyon, but I think I may have made up for it. (Though, I don't really know - how could I?)

I'm sleeping in Fruita, CO tonight. As I said, tomorrow I'll drive through the Colorado National Monument, and then on to the Rocky Mountain National Park. I think I'll try to sleep in the Timber Creek Campground, and then try to see stuff on Wednesday.
