I was excited to see what the Fourth of July would be like in Egypt. The American embassy throws a shin-dig that's supposed to be amazing. "I think America would be even better if we would take a few lessons from other peoples." I think you need to take that statement further. America would be better if we all got out of the country more. The best way to understand the US is to leave our comfort zone.

true that! egypt's particularly good for that because you can see first-hand the dependence-economy that answers the question of "well if they're so great why are they so poor?" they'd be fine if their government and ours would let them.
