Prompt: Brave and Crazy
A/N: A dialog between two people in a cafe over lunch. I'm not sure why I decided to write like this. The voices in my head while trying to sleep told me to. Enjoy!
“Hey, did you see the laundry coupon in today’s paper? It’s $5 off the new stuff.”
“Yeah? The one that is supposed to do everything but fold it?”
“Yep. I am going to try it as soon as my current stuff runs out.”
“Things just keep getting easier and easier these days. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of that stuff from Star Trek comes into our lives before we’re dead.”
“Speaking of dead, did you see the article about the warlock in the paper?”
“Warlock? No, I haven’t read the paper yet today. What’s going on?”
“The warlock was found guilty and was sentenced to death by fire.”
“Am I supposed to know whom you are talking about?”
“Jenna! Do you never read the paper? Seriously girl. You don’t know who I am talking about?”
“Well, you know my job keeps me busy. I’m currently researching how many different snakes live in the Amazon. You won’t believe the information I found out by the way…”
“Snakes? Who can talk about snakes when we have warlocks!”
“Oh all right. Tell me then.”
“The warlock’s name is Troy. He was found guilty of murdering Mr. Javier Rockhouse and his wife! But most people don’t think he killed the wife. She… well, let me tell you, there was something peculiar with that wife of his.”
“Well, if he’s guilty what’s the big to-do about?”
“He didn’t do it! Well, he did it. But he didn’t mean it. Well, he meant it but Javier had it coming!”
“Huh?”
“Turns out that old fancy pants Javier was beating his wife and Troy found out. Troy did his little warlock magic to kill Javier and rescue Jillian, Javier’s wife. Isn’t it romantic?”
“So the warlock killed someone and is now getting his just desserts and you think it’s romantic? What happened to Jillian?”
“Oh, yes, her. There’s a rumor going around that Javier killed her in front of Troy. Can you imagine what a foolish thing to do in front of a warlock? I know they only decided to allow them citizenship a short while ago but you really need to respect that kind of power. Anyway, I digress. The rumor states that Troy got so enraged that he killed Javier. He was only supposed to take Jillian and get her the help she needed away from Javier.”
“That’s too bad about Jillian. And I don’t feel sorry at all for Javier. But still. Troy got what he deserved.”
“Jenna. Wasn’t that brave? Troy stood up for what he believed in!”
“What difference does it make Tara? Brave. Crazy. Romantic. They are all dead come next witch burn.”
