Gay Marriage/Abortion/Suicide

Nov 05, 2008 17:45

There were three ballot measures to ban gay marriage yesterday in Florida, Arizona and California. They were all passed.

I see this as a last gasp at holding the line. The very fact that you have to put it on a ballot to keep marriage between one man and one woman shows where society is heading. Maybe there are enough people out there who are not ready to radically transform the family and thus society, but they will eventually dwindle down to the minority.

These things happen.

I notice that every ballot initiative to put restrictions on abortion was defeated and that they passed an initiative to allow doctor-assisted suicide in Washington.

I think all of these things are bad for society. But I'm not in charge of society; I'm just a little mote of dust watching it all happen.
