A Quick Fan-Rec
I'm working on a large meta-post of SERIOUS THINKING with QUESTION TO THE FLIST (horrors!), so here's another fannish thing to do today as I'm over scheduled like nobody's business. Mom and Dad are both away (important, top secret, United Nations work, yesh) so they've made lots of plan for their chickadees so we're too tired to have a rave and burn down the house. Or boredom tempts me to take up cooking and burn down the house, a viable alternative.
Most notably from my flist who might appreciate this are charleygirl and c0ntrarywise, because the main characters are from Phantom of the Opera and Labyrinth. Both of which I have never seen fully, but I still love this so don't let that deter you other guys!
This is crack, simple as that. Hilarious, genre savvy (they all know they're fictional characters and own copies of their canon), often fourth wall breaking, squee inducing, romantic comedy, crack.
THE SCENARIO: So imagine, if you will, an apartment building. One floor apartments, so the people on each floor share rooms. Who are the tenants?
Landlady: Nanny Ogg
Superintendant: Jean Valjean
Basement: The Cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show
Ground Floor: Legolas (Captain Obvious/Unecessary Narrator when it's not played for laughs that he rooms with) Sweeney Todd
First Floor: Crowley and Aziraphale (they provide meta-commentary more than plot and argue about whether fanservice is good or bad. Crowley always ends the conversation by mentioning their slash fans. lol)
Second Floor: Jareth the Goblin King and Erik the Phantom of the Opera (for the angst fans) and the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth lives in their kitchen
Third Floor: Sarah and Christine (from the previous respective canons)
Fourth Floor: Captain James Norrington and Inspector Javert (actually both leading relatively normal lives, despite dealing with their crazy-ass neighbors)
And other fandoms from which their friends come?
At the University (Javert works security, Norrington and Aziraphale are professors): Indiana Jones, Gandalf, Peregrine Took, Audrey II
Jareth's Family: Jadis/White Which (mother), Lord of Darkness (father in law), the magician Howl (great great great grand newphew) and his wife Sophie, Prince Nuada (nephew), Morgan Le Fay (Aunt), Javert (cousin)
Significant Others: Raoul (Christine's Fiancee), Eponine (I think Javert's girlfriend)
Members of Supernatural Boyfriends and/or Supernatural Stalker Club: Chihiro, Shilo, Susan Pevensie, Mina Harker, Lydia Deetz, Elizabeth Swan
And there are many other cameos from Monty Python, Batman, Neverwhere, Lady Gaga, etc. Oh, and the Twilight characters came once, but we don't know what Crowley did with them.
