Work sucks don't go

The stupid bathroom fixing monkeys still aren't done!

I dislocated my knee this weekend, and as of today I am still on crutches, and the goddamn bathroom monkeys aren't done yet. One and a half more weeks to go. I don't know why Cal Poly is so cheap (well I guess I do), but it will have taken them a month and a half to do accessibility upgrades. The "humor" of the situation is not lost on me. I can't walk very well, and the bathrooms that I should be able to use that are so close to my office that I can hear people use them, are out of order due to accessibility upgrades. How about my goddamn accessibility huh?

So I didn't go to work yesterday. I couldn't face the 1 long hike to the bathroom and back. Today I will either take the stairs (I'm getting better at that again), or I'll use my golfcart to drive to a different building which will still be faster. So I stayed home and played Viva Pinata.

I am very appreciate of all the awesomeness that Zac and my friends have provided. I've had food cooked for me, and I've been chauffeured to and from work and doctors appts. That part has been awesome, but the ortho better give me some sort of better locomotion method then crutches. A wheelchair would be acceptable, a walking brace or cast, but I need my hands. They need to do things like cook food, and craft, and help me balance.

My crutching skills are already coming back, I am more capable of walking and getting up and down stairs.

Edit: the good news is that I am now allowed to slowly start using it again, with a follow up visit in three weeks and physical therapy to follow, to build up my muscles and tendon support to keep this from happening again (or on my left leg). I did remember to get a disability permit though, since even with an increased ability to use the leg, I'll want to go easy on it for awhile.
