The land in which we were was dark, but the sky against the gum tree upon the hill in the distance in which the Kaka sat was yellow with the late setting sun.

Oh that's so lovely! I think spur of the moment proposals are the nicest. My brother had years to plan his and the best he could come up with was the top of the Eiffel Tower - yech. Whereas I was talking to a lady at knitting group, she said her boyfriend knew she was getting back from London that day, took the day off work, and stood out in the rain for hours to meet every London train. When she finally go there (she'd taken her time as she thought he was at work) she said "what am I going to do with you?" and he said "marry me".
