Wow.
So two things have been happening recently.
1. I have been hit on by everything that moved.
2. Everyone in the goddamned world has spoken incessently about how I need to give myself a shot in television.
I have a friend out in LA with whom I spoke tonight about it, and expressed my opinion that I'm just not pretty enough for TV. This is not to say I think I'm not pretty, just...TV pretty is a whoooooole different kind of pretty.
The following is an excerpt from the conversation:
Brian: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
Melanie: I'm Pittsburgh beautiful, sweety
Melanie: i'm trash in LA
Brian: no
Brian: i've seen people here
Brian: you're beautiful everywhere
You tell me if that's 1 or 2, I think it's both, but I don't even know. I know it's probably the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me. It probably wasn't even meant to be, and a friend was the one who said it, but man. Man, it's good to hear that every once in a while. It's good to be appreciated, to feel admired.
Jesus, wouldn't that be nuts? Melanie Janiszewski: Oprah meets Martha meets Pee Wee pre-humiliation meets Jack Black's character in High Fidelity. How very, very odd that would be...on TV
