The things I've learned

It seems that sometimes the people you think are most volatile in life end up alright unexpectedly, and then some people you thought were stable are the ones crying behind locked doors... The ones you thought would be infinitely interesting are stuck in a life route that they perceived themselves to be stuck in, and the ones that were plodding each step at a time bring new and exciting parts of life to light... The ones you thought would never leave you sometimes do, and the ones you thought you'd never see again turn up ready to hold hands...

And sometimes, because someone's hurt you in life or you've gone past the point of no return on the rocky road of friendship/relationships and you're not sure how to re-assess that person and so you don't - sometimes they just show up outta the blue, even though you know they've been just around the corner for so long and you talk. And that talk feels good, even if it isn't about anything major - and hell, that's what makes it feel good. And all the sudden maybe you realise it's because you're mature enough to talk past the immaturities of the years gone by and connect towards something that may have been originally there.

So - for the girl - let's say woman - that inspired this post, I'm sure you know who you are, I can sincerely sincerely say I am glad that things are going well for you and that you are smiling that beautiful smile. I'm sorry things went horridly askew some time ago that I can barely remember, but glad to see that we're both on our feet, one way or another. Thanks for talking, was somewhat needed today. And best of luck with next year, I didn't convey how awesome I think that is, but totally... way to go you.

=)
