Okay, so barring my earlier rant, here is what is going on:
My latest novel has officially taken off. I have completed a preliminary VYM and will be reviewing that post-sleep time to ensure it makes sense. I will also be sketching ideas present out. Expect to see my "awesome" drawing skills (derp :3)
I have decided that I should possibly present the story idea in an abstract, so submitted for your approval:
. . .
I need to think of a story title. Ugh.
Abstract first, Amp, then the freakin' title.
A basic outline:
Religion is known nowaday as being that which can divide and is seen as a divisive topic, much like politics. However, prior to the days of the Nazarenes, most religions got along well with one another, providing no toes were stepped upon. When Alexander conquered the world, he would pray at each temple he came to, including the one of the Jews.
Therefore, my abstract idea is that the world we exist in now could be one where all religions are, in essence, correct. There are multiple gods, and multiple paths to heaven. However, in conjunction with the Christian story of Armageddon, that would unjustly punish the followers of different religions into an ultimatum position. "Convert or Burn".
In essence, what if Jesus came back again ? Would the other gods be pleased ? What if they could not intervene ? They would rely, obviously, on the descendants of their traditions: priests and priestesses. By establishing this early on, and playing off of lesser known myths, as well as combining Kabbalistic mythology and a bit of romance, I think it is entirely possible that I could play this out without offending any one group of individuals.
I made my selections for descendants based off of near necessity and diversity. From Skadi to Anansi, with Hermes and Pavarti making appearances, I used the concepts and tales of the gods to determine how they would react to such threats. I also include the greatest deus ex machina possible.
I sourced materials unknown to most. Ripley's Twelve Gates, Levi's works. Even Crowley got some viewing time. While I am horrible at explaining myself, especially prior to having the fifth chapter written, I can assure you I have this fleshed out. It makes sense. I even asked my theologian friends if my ideas made sense.
They do. So, I am hoping to have this done by the end of the summer. It will be my first and possibly only venture into the world of fantasy.
That is that, now enjoy some music. I am going to sleep.
