I don't know about their practices much, sorry. They treated their patients with a mixture of herbs; made medicine out of natural elements. They cured you of everything, really, ranging from a stomachache to riding you of your bad spirits and demons. "Mal de ojo" is what we call it when someone wishes you harm, it could be deliberately or without them noticing. An example of an unintentional mal de ojo, would be if my brother was doing good in a subject and someone mentions that he's concentrating and doing so well, making him not do his work. It's silly, really. Don't know if you knew. I'm at a family reunion, my uncle just told me this: When my uncle was a child he ate too many mangoes and got a stomachache, so my grandma went to a woman from around the neighborhood for help and she treated him with a mixture of olive oil and salt, rubbing it on his stomach, creating friction which caused heat, alleviating the pain, while muttering prayers at the same time. This must have been around the 1970s and my uncle must have ben about nine years old.
