1. I had a great piano lesson today. I got a new Schumann piece that's really hard, but doable. I'm looking forward to it a lot.
2. How can I make it so that my default journal setting is Friends Only?
3. I would rather that you didn't discuss my livejournal contents in public. My entries are to remain in cyberspace. This is an outlet for me to express my excitement, my frustration, my boredom, and my life in general. But, for example... last year, I wrote an entry about how shitty I felt after I butchered Bach's Prelude in A minor from English Suite II at a competition at Bates College. A day or two after, someone at school said something along the lines of, "I'm sorry you feel you did badly at the competition. I bet it wasn't as bad as you think."
A. Yes, it fucking was.
B. I didn't even know that this girl reads my livejournal.
C. She basically said this to me in front of the whole class as I entered.
D. Yes, it was fucking bad, shut the fuck up.
Do I get embarassed when people talk to me about things I've written in my journal? To be quite frank, yes. I indulge in this geeky online phenomenon that is Livejournal, and it's fun and interesting, but incredibly personal, and I'd like people to please respect that.
By the way, this semi-rant isn't in response to anything/anyone in particular; it was just on my mind.
I got the Chris Potter CD. It turns out that the performance I attended wasn't one of the recorded ones. (I was at the Vanguard on February 18th, and the recordings are from the 15th through 17th). Either way, it features the same songs and the same band, so as far as I know, it's fucking great. I can't wait to listen.
