The past few days have been pretty cool. Both last night and the night before, I hung out with Crystal, Jordan, and Lindsey. Fun fun.
Today was the gay pride parade. We marched from Monument Square (people in the parade lined up on Preble St.) to Deering Oaks. It was really fun. I marched behind the GLSEN banner (Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network?) and held a sign (I forget what it says... something about no discrimination against LGBT students). Afterward, I hung out at Deering Oaks for a while with a bunch of people. It was good to see some people that I met at gay prom.
I love Portland. Sometimes I feel like I'm not grateful enough for Portland. Compared to some other places, it's a relatively friendly town. In other places just aren't good places to be gay. While Portland certainly isn't NY or San Francisco or Montreal or anything, it's friendly. I mean there are obviously the occasional homophobes, but usually the straights jump all over them before the gays have to say anything. It's really awesome.
I mean I love Portland for other reasons than its gay-friendliness. But yeah, it's coo'.
