We had our chorus concert tonight. All I will say is that Mr. Drobinski and the chorus make me very angry.
The jazz band performance was really fun.
I'm going to miss Mr. Randazzo next year. He's such a good guy.
Music isn't learning notes. Music isn't learning dynamics. Music isn't learning rhythm, harmony, accents, fermatas, all that shit. It's learning everything, and more.
Music is everyone singing the same vowel sound (not as easy as it sounds). Music is focusing your tone so that it is quiet, but not breathy. Music is being one member in a 240-person chorus, where everyone is singing fortissimo. Music is moving your body when you play, and not purposely. Music is collaboration. Music is communication. Music is fun.
Portland High School Chorus needs to work really hard on making music, and not just singing.
