Poll Weekend Comparison: The Die Hard saga

Trivia (Die Hard): Beethoven's Ode to Joy is the music theme of the terrorists. This was the idea of director John McTiernan. Hans Gruber, the terrorist leader, even hums it at one point in the movie (while he is on the elevator with Mr. Takagi). Music composer Michael Kamen at first thought it was a "sacrilege" to use Beethoven in an action movie, telling McTiernan: "I will make mincemeat out of Wagner or Strauss for you, but why Beethoven?" McTiernan replied that Ode to Joy had been the theme of the ultra-violence in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. Kamen, a Kubrick fan, then agreed.

Trivia (Die Harder): The scenes with Bruce Willis running through tunnels under the airport were filmed at a water treatment facility near Los Angeles. The facility has miles of underground tunnels, and was also used in Live Free or Die Hard (2007), doubling as the Woodlawn Social Security Administration building.

Trivia (Die Hard With A Vengeance: Originally titled "Simon Says" (where Zeus was scripted as a woman) and was considered as the third sequel to Lethal Weapon

Trivia (Live Free or Die Hard): In the beginning credits when Kevin Smith's name comes on the screen. The "m" in smith disappears and you see "Sith" for a few seconds paying homage to Kevin Smith's love of all things 'Star Wars' which also reflects in his character in the movie.

Die Hard was last voted on in Dec 2006. Die Hard 2 last got love in March 2007.
