Google + account suspended

Well, it was bound to happen. My account was suspended...I'm still not changing my name because I don't want my real name online at all! But I did add a fake last name that's sort of generic. Google + is smoking crack if they think their service is going to be successful when people can't pick which names they are known by online. My real name

Yeah, I deleted my G+ account when it became clear they weren't about to see sense any time soon on the name issue. It just made it obvious that it's not the kind of service I want to use. *sighs*

I was sort of hoping they'd see reason. I mean seriously do these guys in charge have a clue of how much people don't want to associate their online life with their real life? I've read WAY too many stories in the NYTs about people losing out to jobs because of online activities, like having a beer with friends.

I get the impression that they've bought into the myth that real names make people behave better, hook, line and sinker. I know people like that; there's no reasoning with them.

hehe. :) I'm at the YJ anon meme looking for that super sad story you told me about. Was it part 5 or part 6??? But while looking for the story you mentioned about the five times Clark's relationships didn't work I found this other story about Superboy that I hadn't read. You're right the number scheme is weird!

Facebook lets you have fake names. Or at the very least doesn't delete your account when you use a fake name. I have plenty of friends who use weird monikers and they get to keep their FB accounts. This is just making FB more attractive than G+. People go by different names for different reasons and they're not going to change that because Google says so. They'll just go somewhere else. =/

And that is why I refuse to join Google+ I have been stalked on and offline before, i am not about to make it easier for them. Also, more folks know me by artcat than by my real name.
