Well, that's me.
Back in March, when I got in the motorcycle wreck, while I was lying in the ambulance the cops were busy writing me two tickets. One for riding without a motorcycle licence, which is bunk, and another for not having insurance- also bunk. I shall explain.
The license- If one is pulled over while riding without a license, one usually can get off if, as I did, one has a recent MSF class certification on his/her person. I had been intending to get the license within the next week or so, anyway, so I would have been let off when I went to court for that ticket.
The insurance- while the motorcyle I was riding was not, in fact, insured (curse you, Mark), I spoke to a lawyer friend of mine who says that it doesn't matter as long as I, myself, was insured at the time. So all I have to do is get proof from Geico is that I was insured at the time and that ticket, too, is dismissed when I show up in court.
The shitty thing?
I never got a freaking ticket from the cops. Never. Never got one in the mail, never got one in person, they didn't give one to Mark or tell him they were going to give one to me or anything. And they talked to him, too, for a good long time! What bullshit.
The same lawyer friend told me that it doesn't matter that I never got the ticket, as long as the cops mailed it... somewhere. Doesn't matter if they sent it to the wrong address, doesn't matter if it got lost in the mail.
Long story short, I have two warrants out for my arrest.
Matt says we might hold off on posting bail since I now drive like a grandma.
Damn you, traffic court.
[edit] by the way, thanks, Grant, for graciously offering to spring me. I'll be sure to get a corner cell.
