on the news i saw that the usa today had some of their people go around the country and use government issue testers to see if there was any dangerous chemicals or elements in our public schools, and aparently they found that most of our schools had poisonus fumes of different sorts

Well, different isotopes of chemicals can act in different ways. I don't know much that much about Chromium, but I do know that while it's most common form is Chromium-52, it can be found in at least four other forms (Chromium-50, Chromium-51, Chromium-53, and Chromium-54). That said, I do know that typically isotopes tend to be more dangerous, as often they're radioactive. So the isotopes of Chromium would probably be even more dangerous than Chromium-52, but the fact remains they do have different properties.

And yes, I realize that the lady probably wasn't thinking of all this stuff when she said that.
