Christmas. The very idea of such a stupid holiday made Lucas want to gag, and he was looking none-too-pleased with anything as he opened the door and found Amorisa standing there.
"Hello," he said, taking a step back to let her in. "Uh...happy Christmas," he added as an afterthought, because he was ridiculously fed up with having to say that to everyone.
Amorisa smiled and leaned up on her tipy toes to kiss her cousin on the cheek and hugged him to her. She was just so happy to see him. See him not hurt, see that he was still standing, because if Stephan found out that Lucas could possibly be suspended.
She smiled and patted his back. "Happy Christmas to you too doll. What have you been up to on your break? I spent Six days with Adrian and went to a third year party last night at Genie's house. So now I'm spending the night here and leaving tomorrow evening for Wind's house. My parents are coming for a day, they know I'm still not happy with them right now, but.." she shrugged and smiled, waiting for him to answer the questions she had asked
Ah, well. What had Lucas been doing on his holiday? He'd been lounging about his house, sneaking into the liquor cabinet when his parents were away and occasionally sneaking out of the house to pay a visit to his Extremely Shady Muggle mates.
Needless to say, it hadn't been much fun. "I haven't really been doing anything," he told Amorisa at last. "But sounds like you're having a good time!" It took him a few seconds to muster up the energy to be happy that Amorisa was having a good holiday.
The fact that he didn't go into an all out screaming fit about her spending time with Adrian had shocked her, she had half been prepared to defuse her cousin's temper, but...it wasn't there, he was..trying to be happy for her.
"I have indeed," she smiled, "but I'm happy to spend a quiet day alone with you, away from school away from everyone else. We havent actually had a quiet moment totgether since...before the attack." She had remembered their brief conversation after the attack, how he had wanted her, along with Adrian to follow the dark lord.
She smiled as they entered the longue and she smiled and ran up to hug her aunt tightly. She may be in a disagreement with her father, but she loved his sister, her Aunt, she had always been so kind to her.
"Hello Auntie," she smiled, but her face turned slightly cold at the sight of her Uncle. If there was a man she hated, it was Lucas' father, all of Lucas' problems today could be blamed on him. "Hello Uncle," she said cooly, walking to stand by Lucas' side.
It was really unfortunate that Lucas' parents had to be around at this particular moment, because he so would have enjoyed some alone time. "Well, introductions over? Good." He placed a hand on Amorisa's shoulder and steered her towards the kitchen, waving goodbye to his mother and completely ignoring his father.
He would probably pay for that one later, but it was all right. He sat down at the kitchen table and remembered what Amorisa had said earlier. "Ah, right. The attack." He hadn't thought much about that, and he wasn't about to start. "Anyway! You know I'm not going back to school right away, right?"
"Yes, and you are lucky you arent getting expelled," she sighed. She had much she wanted to say on the subject, mostly along the lines of screaming 'what were you thinking?!'. However, Lucas had been completely respectful upon finding out she had been at her boyfriends house for 6 days, so she couldn't scream at him, it wasn't right.
"Yes..I know. I would think you would want to go back though, anything to not have to stay here with him. Has he found out....that you got supsended? Have you had to..." she looked for the right words..."had to pay for that?" She wanted to outright ask if Stephan beat Lucas, but she feared that if the Answer was yes that she'd go in the room and strangle the bastard to death.
Lucas shrugged, not quite wanting to talk about this. Since when had his life become such a festival of drama and emo? It was ridiculous, and he hated it.
"I haven't told him," he said at last. "I don't really plan on it...I think I'll just let my mother break it to him." He grinned a grin that was somewhat evil and nodded. "Yes...my mother can tell him all about it. Of course, she'll have to find out first. Right."
"Stay someplace else for a few days," Amorisa suggested. "They dont even have to know about it. Just have them drop you off at the train station...and go someplace else until your detention is lifted. Hell they may let you back in to the school but jut confine you to the common room for your detention. I don't know, but I'm not going to tell anyone about your misadventures." She smiled and pulled out a card for him with $50 cash for christmas. "Here you are doll," Amorisa said with a smile
Lucas grinned and accepted the money--now that was something he could get used to! He pocketed the gift card and leaned over the table to pat Amorisa on the head. "You're a good kid, sometimes." He sighed and looked around the kitchen before looking back at Amorisa. "I hope you didn't do anything stupid when you were at Adrian's," he said, glaring at her.
Amorisa smiled at the praise, to see her cousin actually smile. It was great. She laughed at his comment about her being a good kid and grinned. "Well I have a great cousin to be a good kid for, so its not that hard,"
Ah, so there it was. His innocently wanting to know how things at Adrian's went. She smiled. "No, nothing stupid at all. It was seperate bedrooms down the hall from each other, and Adrian acted like a perfect gentleman when we were around his family and even when we werent," Granted, they had a good snog or two when they could fit it in. "Thank you...for you know, not freaking out and letting me go stay with him"
"Well," Lucas said, shrugging again, "I have more important things to worry about." And how true that was! For one, he had to worry about getting his parents out of the house that night. For another, he had to worry about hiding his antics at school while at the same time finding a way to kill Darin DeLouise. Ah, the life of Lucas Longshore was a difficult one indeed.
He didn't quite believe the seperate bedrooms bit (after all, he'd been a fourteen year old boy once...and an extremely horny one at that!) but he would let it slide. For now. Maybe he'd treat Adrian to a little head-to-floor action once he returned to school.
Amorisa hoped off the stool and walked around Lucas to make herself a cup of hot coca, and fixed up Lucas one of his favorite beverages and handed it to him, sipping her drink.
"I know what you are thinking," she obeserved, "dont even think about beating up my boyfriend. In the two months we've been together he's been very respectful of me, and he comes from a respectable pureblood family and" she looked around and leaned forward to whisper to him "he's trying to get me to follow the side that both you and he follow," she arched a brow at him knowingly and leaned back in her chair. "I mean it Lucas, don't beat up my boyfriend. You have to much on your plate as it is. To much to worry about, you're going to have to walk a fine line at school for awhile," she whispered.
"Hello," he said, taking a step back to let her in. "Uh...happy Christmas," he added as an afterthought, because he was ridiculously fed up with having to say that to everyone.
