It took some time but now it's there with 200 of his works. The amazing thing about Magritte is, that he has so many masterpieces in a nevertheless difficult style, surrealism. Each time I'm baffled about how these works can affect you and that despite their mysteriousness looks so familiar. I understand so easily the things you don't understand in his works. One of the first works I saw on a calendar was called 'personal values' and I immediately was won for the surrealistic way of thinking and I began to look for other works by him and I was always pleasantly surprised with the original images he was able to create.
This will be a museum in Brussels that I will visit a lot and although the flemish primitives are my favorite group of painters, with Jan Van Eyck as the master of the masters, I keep a special place for Magritte whom I consider one of the most important painters of the 20th century.
