I read this at CNN.com: "Because of a death row backlog in California, the chances are greater that a condemned inmate will die in prison than be executed by lethal injection."
Scott Peterson may not have to get the death penalty. Although, with that being said, I still think the death sentence is wrong.
Scott murdered his wife and unborn child. It was a crime. Well, if that's a crime why isn't the death sentence? That's MURDERING too.
Meg [
___spark_radio ] also made a really good point. He got a count of two charges not just one because he also killed his unborn child. Why was he charged with that when ABORTION is legal? Abortion kills babies but you don't see doctors and moms getting the death sentence now do you?
Why let him get it EASY by making him suffer for only a short time? Why not have him sit his ass in a cold, dark, shitty jail cell and suffer for a long time? He's in his 20's. You can't tell me he won't sit in jail and suffer when he would have to be in there for life without parole.
This country is ridiculous. If you're going to have laws make them for everyone. Make them fair.
