Once again, I am playing kink bingo with myself, with prompts lovingly stolen from… well, from kink bingo. This is all in the name of writing something outside of my usual D/s fic comfort zone (which is sub!Dean, sub!Dean, more sub!Dean, Dean subbing for Cas, Dean subbing for Lisa, Dean subbing for Anna, Dean subbing for Cassie, Dean subbing for everybody under the sun because Dean is a sub), namely an idea for a sub!Cas fic that won't leave me be. It doesn't really have a plot as such, but then again, kink without plot (unless you count emotional substance as plot, and I… don't? not necessarily anyway?) is one of my favorite genres, and anyway… it's basically all about 2014!Cas being the brattiest sub to ever brattily sub. Because of reasons.
Because I had an epiphany last night that I could totally get on board with sub!Cas… if it meant that Cas was going to be a little shit and a grumpysaurus rex and an enormous brat about everything, because that would make a lot of sense to me. Sure, he wants to follow orders and he wants to be a good boy and he wants to toe whatever lines he lets Dean give him-but at the same time, he doesn't want to let himself be any kind of vulnerable, and he doesn't want to admit that he needs to be taken care of, and he trusts Dean but he doesn't want to admit that Dean can help him with anything, because fallen or not, he's still an angel and dammit, he should be able to take care of himself just fine without relying on anybody else, and so on, and so forth, Castiel, angel of the LORD, is a little shit-like, that is central to how I see his character, so.
As far as Dean's characterization in this fic goes… well. it's from Cas's POV, so Dean's thoughts and feelings get kind of neglected a lot, and I wouldn't call that a plot point, because like I said, this fic has basically no plot, but it's something that they're going to end up Discussing because god, I just love making the emotionally stunted pretty boys talk about their feelings. But as far as Dean's characterization goes… he's more of a service dom than anything: he doms Cas because Cas needs it and because Cas wants it, not because he actually enjoys domming or because he actually has any particular feelings one way or the other about Cas's needs beyond, "well that's kind of weird based on my experiences, but sure, I guess I'll go along with it."
and anyway, the whole purpose of this prompt table is pretty much, "how many kinks can I possibly squeeze into this one fic."
